Welcome Home!

Welcome to the Otumoetai Church of Christ Website.

The Otumoetai Church of Christ is a family of young, old and in-betweens! It is a place where you can expect to find love, care, acceptance and support.

Being part of a family, church and wider community our desire is to help build stronger homes and lives that will, in turn, build stronger community and country.

Covid 19 Response

Update: 13 May 2020

The Prime Minister has announced that New Zealand will now move down to Alert Level 2. Under Level 2 there are more freedoms given for social interaction, but some restrictions are in place that affect our normal functions as a church community.

Online worship services:

In line with the 10 person limit on gatherings we will continue to offer an online worship service streamed from our Facebook page at 10am on Sunday mornings. Please visit the Otumoetai Church of Christ Facebook page for information about our online events.

Worship in limited groups:

We would like to encourage you to utilize the level 2 freedoms and invite another family or others to join you in your home for the worship service and fellowship. Just a reminder, even in your homes there is a 10 person limit, so please don’t exceed that.

Access to the church building:

Specific instructions for ministry leaders or members requiring access to the church building under the restrictions of Level 2 are outlined in the email to members dated 13 May 2020. Please read through that before entering the building to ensure we are maintaining a high level of safety for those who enter our building and those who follow after them.

As we are now in Level 2 we encourage our members to connect with each other and enjoy these renewed social freedoms. We also encourage all of you to follow the safety guidelines set out by the government, and if you feel sick or display any Covid-19 like symptoms please call Healthline (0800 358 5453) or your doctor for advice.

Please continue to pray for one another, wisdom for our Government, the safety of the nation and mercy for the whole world

What We Value…

Jesus

“We value how Jesus displayed love, leadership, acceptance, and sacrifice throughout his earthly journey. We are compelled to live to the standard Jesus set and to let our lives reflect his story.”

Outreach

“We value the men, women, and children who need to know Jesus Christ. We desire to share the Gospel and proactively show love and compassion to people in Tauranga, NZ and the World.”

Transformation

“We value the way peoples’ lives are continually transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s grace and mercy allows humanity to live forgiven, free and fearless lives within God’s intended plan for all people to be restored to Him.”

Community

“We value our diverse community and relationships. We believe it’s essential to constantly reach for our full potential in Christ together through communal prayer, worship, studying scripture, and sharing our stories. We aspire to equip all ages to utilize their spiritual gifts to serve each other.”
